7 Sep 2006 — KIN MEN ISLAND, TAIWAN: With its quiet villages and peaceful beaches it is hard to picture a prison on this island. Yet crime is just as real here as anywhere else in the world.
Prison officials welcomed the Scientology Volunteer Ministers Goodwill Tour with banners and fanfare on their arrival here last week. The Volunteer Ministers delivered a workshop to 61 of the prisoners and several policemen. The workshop was based on workable techniques developed by L. Ron Hubbard for repairing the wrongs one has done.
After the seminar, officials asked the Volunteer Ministers to introduce the prisoners to the drug rehabilitation program based on Mr. Hubbard's discoveries. Such a program was recently successfully implemented in a Taipei prison.
HELPING THE NEXT GENERATION
 |
| Young and old alike, people of Kin Men Island have come to the yellow Volunteer Ministers tent to learn to improve their lives and help their fellows — and the children are no exception. |
While it is certainly important to work with prisoners so they reform and become productive members of society once again, helping the next generation is even more vital.
That is why the Scientology Volunteer Ministers in Kin Men are helping people of every race, color, creed and yes, every age.
People have come to the yellow Volunteer Ministers tent, young and old alike, to learn to improve their lives and help their fellows. Children are no exception, as youngsters coming to the tents have learned how to help each other using the techniques of the Scientology Handbook.
