Applied
Scholastics: an international organization utilizing L.
Ron Hubbard's educational methods to restore literacy
the world over.
Auditor: a minister or minister-in-training of a Church
of Scientology. The word derives from Latin audire, meaning
"to listen".
Criminon: Criminon operates programs
across the world to help incarcerated criminals learn to be
productive members of society.
Dianetics:
a methodology developed by L. Ron Hubbard which
can help alleviate |
unwanted
sensations and emotions, irrational fears and psychosomatic
illnesses.
Narconon: coined from "non-narcotics,"
Narconon groups and programs provide drug rehabilitation and
prevention services.
Field Staff Member: a
Scientology parishioner who introduces others to Scientology
through personal contact.
OT: abbreviation
for Operating Thetan. By "operating" is meant "able to act and
handle things" and by "thetan" is meant the spiritual being
that is the basic self. "Theta" is Greek |
for thought
or life or the spirit. "Operating Thetan" refers to the upper
levels of spiritual awareness achieved through Scientology.
WISE: an acronym for World Institute of Scientology
Enterprises. A religious fellowship organization of businesspersons
who utilize Mr. Hubbard's administrative technology.
